Every proven Vortec V8 engine available on Silverado 1500 is capable of generating over 300 horsepower and 300 lb.-ft. of torque. Or jump up to the available Vortec 6.2L V8 that produces 403 horses and 417 lb.-ft. of torque.

Not surprisingly, all that horsepower is complemented by a lot of payload capability - 1,980 lbs.(7) for Crew Cab and 1,925 lbs.(7) for Extended Cab models with the available MAX Trailering Pack.

When rear-wheel slippage occurs at lower speeds, the available GM-segment exclusive automatic locking rear differential allows additional traction on snow and ice, mud , or even on a slippery boat ramp.

Tow/Haul Mode

Tow/Haul mode enhances performance on the Silverado while pulling a trailer or hauling heavy loads. When activated, this feature modifies the automatic transmission shift schedule and helps limit throttle pedal activity by the driver while traveling over rolling terrain.

Rear view camera system

An available rear view camera system can help you back into the perfect position to hook up a trailer.

Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist provides a warning when you're getting close to certain object while driving in reverse at low speeds. Requires available Convenience Package on Extended Cab 1500 and Crew Cab  1500 LT and LTZ.

Silverado Safety

StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System helps you keep on the road and in control.

• The control module compares your steering input with the vehicle's actual response and then, if necessary, makes small, individual brake pedal pushes to help you keep on track
• It automatically intervenes when it senses understeer (plowing), oversteer (fishtailing) or loss of lateral traction

Steel Safety Cage

The safety cage is designed to help preserve occupant space in the event of a collision.

Crush zones, located in the front body structure, are designed for a "progressive crush" during a frontal crash. This design absorbs and channels crash energy in a controlled manner

Tire Pressure Monitor

Monitors the inflation level in each of the four road tires. The Driver Information Center (DIC) then displays the readout of each tire's pressure (excludes spare tire)

If any tire falls below a specified pressure, the driver is immediately alerted via a message in the DIC.
